Cayo Costa to Lovers Key, FL

Best Times: December - March.

Cayo Costa

With nine miles of beautiful beaches and acres of pine forests, oak-palm hammocks and mangrove swamps, the barrier island park of Cayo Costa is a Gulf Coast paradise.  You may see manatees and pods of dolphins in the waters around the 2,426 acre park, as well as a spectacular assortment of birds. Anchoring in Pelican Bay, you can swim or snorkel in the surf, enjoy the sun and a picnic or stroll along the beach. Saltwater anglers can fish from our available tender or explor the surrounding mangrove islands.

Cabbage Key

With its original old Florida style feel, this is a must see for everyone.

Captiva

With five miles of unspoiled white sand beaches, shelling is a famous past time. Here, you have the option of a quiet anchorage or staying at an upscale resort-style marina.

Sanibel Island

Containing one of the largest undeveloped mangrove ecosystems in the United States, the J. N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge is world famous for spectacular migratory birds, fishing and nature trails.

Fort Myers Beach

Here you'll find beaches, great restaurants and nightlife to enjoy while staying aboard the Double Eagle.

Lovers Key

Lovers are said to have traveled to the island of Lovers Key to enjoy its remote and solitary beach. A haven for wildlife, the islands and their waters are home to West Indian manatees, bottlenose dolphins, roseate spoonbills, marsh rabbits, and bald eagles. Lovers Key is popular for shelling, swimming, picnicking, and sunbathing.
